Born in Kilmarnock in 1957, Lynne studied HND Art & Design with Photography at Ayr College. She was a successful freelance photographer for various newspapers before concentrating on her first love, painting.
She now works full time from her studio at home in Alloway, exhibiting in galleries throughout Scotland and London with her paintings featuring in private collections in Europe and USA.
In addition to her painting as a professional artist, Lynne teaches art therapy to hospice patients in Ayrshire. ‘I find being with the patients so rewarding, and energizes my enthusiasm for my own work.’
Lynne’s passion is strong vibrant colours and considers Georges Braque, Matisse and Cezanne as early influences.
She is drawn to subjects that create textural form and colour balance.
Her tabletop still life paintings show clever design and composition, combined with the use of unusual perspective.
Lynne exhibits with the RGI and Paisley Art Institute.
