Lisette was born in 1961 in Tangiers of Italian and Portuguese parents, moving to Spain as a teenager. She came to the UK in 1982, and has lived in Scotland since 2001. For some years family commitments made it difficult to dedicate herself fully to art and only allowed for part time courses. She studied History of Art and Architecture at Kingston University followed by Ceramics and Fine Art at the London Guildhall University. It was only when finally settled in Scotland than she could undertake a full time course.
She graduated from Grays School of Art in 2007 being awarded the Royal Scottish Academy David Gordon Memorial Trust Award and the John Kinross travelling Scholarship to Florence. Her work is primarily concerned with the human figure, the interaction between human beings and the way that our lives and personalities are shaped by our surroundings and our culture. Lisette’s work is represented in various galleries in the UK and has been shown at the Venice Biennale of 2011. Works in the Royal Scottish Academy Permanent Collection, the Richard Demarco Collection as well as private collections in the UK and USA and Canada
